Groups

Groups let you organize people in your congregation into meaningful collections — small groups, ministry teams, families, and more.

Group Types

EverySheep supports three types of groups:

• Custom — Groups you create manually for any purpose (e.g., "Youth Group", "Worship Team")
• Family — Household groups that link family members together
• Imported — Groups brought in automatically through a sync integration

Creating Groups

To create a new group:

1. Navigate to People > Groups
2. Click the add button
3. Enter a group name and optional description
4. Save the group

Managing Group Members

Once a group exists, you can add or remove people:

• From the group page, use the member management interface to add people
• From a person's profile, you can see which groups they belong to and add them to additional groups

Family Groups

Family groups are a special type that represents a household. They help you understand relationships within your congregation and can be created manually or imported from your ChMS.

Favorite Groups

Mark groups you access frequently as favorites for quick access from the sidebar navigation.

Searching Groups

The group list is searchable using a full-text search index, so you can quickly find any group by name.
